Combe Pre-School

Combe Primary School has many links with the community, one of which is Combe Pre-School - a well established and popular pre-school providing quality education and childcare for young children.

Combe Pre-School is delighted to announce that it has extended its existing provision to include an After-School club.  Please see their website for further information.

Children at Combe Primary have access to and use the Internet on a regular basis as part of their learning.  It is important to remind children the importance of keeping themselves safe online.

Here are some useful links to help you to keep your children safe online:

  • NSPCC - updated information 2016.
  • Think U Know - this site is produced by CEOP (the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre).
  • Kidsmart - an award winning safety programme.
  • Bullying UK - Information & advice for children, parents and schools.
  • Childline - ChildLine is a free helpline for children and young people in the UK.

Please note that the law now insists that parents do not have the right to authorise absence, therefore requests for leave of absence must be made to the Head Teacher at least a day in advance.

Dental and hospital appointments should be made out of school time whenever possible.By law, only the Head Teacher can authorise your child's absence.  If your child is unwell and cannot attend school, please phone the School Office before 9.30am.  This is required on each day of illness.

At Combe School we believe in every child having opportunities to develop their own individual skills. We follow the statutory National Curriculum but have also developed a curriculum that fosters their curiosity, develops creativity and enables them to challenge that which they hear, read and observe.

This Curiosity, Creativity and Challenge is taught at Combe every afternoon and encompasses History, Geography, Science, the Arts, PE and RE where appropriate.

The immediate and local environments are utilised wherever possible and we use the outside whenever the learning dictates.
