School Layout & Classes
We currently have 108 children at the school - from Foundation Stage 4 year olds through to Year 6.
We have four classes, two infant and two junior classes, which the children decided to name after the planets. The school is on adjacent sites which are separated by a small driveway.
Our Infant classrooms are situated in a new building which consists of two classrooms, cloakrooms, our assembly hall and our kitchen. Our 'home cooked' lunches are prepared and cooked at school every day by Tilia (a copy of the current menu is on the Parent Info page).
The Junior classrooms are located in the original Victorian school house on the other side of the driveway and here we have two large junior classrooms, cloakrooms, our school office and some other smaller teaching areas.
Outside the school buildings the children can use our school field which is at the back of the school as well as play on our hard and grassy areas which are complete with line markings for creative games and wooden play equipment. The school has a beautiful garden which is a peaceful place for the children to be and is an extremely useful area for environmental and ecological study.
The children at Combe Primary School enjoy a broad curriculum where there is plenty of opportunity to try new things. Our emphasis is about 'having a go' and experiencing as many different disciplines and activities as possible. You can see from the photos on the site that we do value new initiatives which may help prepare our children for their exciting futures as well as keeping some sense of tradition particularly with village celebrations and events.
